The Origins of Pilates:
|
Pilates was created by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century as a system he originally called Contrology which is the art of controlling the body through mindful movement. His goal was to build strength, flexibility, and create a resilient, efficient, and capable body that could move well through all stages of life.
During World War I, Joseph Pilates began developing exercises to help injured soldiers regain strength and mobility. Using bed springs and simple mechanical setups, he created what would later become the Pilates Reformer. |
How Reformer Pilates Fits the Bug Out Philosophy
Bug Out Training was built on the idea of "Train for Life"... preparing your body to be strong, mobile, adaptable, and confident for real-world demands, whether that’s lifting groceries, chasing your kids, recovering from injury, or navigating the unexpected.
